Hi everyone! There hasn't been an announcement in a while. But recently we've made a few changes to the Islands Wikia that I would like to bring up here!
New background
Maybe not the most important change, but still a nice one. The background is free to be used by anyone and for any purpose.
Manual of Style changes
Standardized crafting recipes
A guide for how to display one of more crafting recipes has finally been added to the Manual of Style. It covers things like when images should be added and how big they should be, and how the recipe itself should be formatted. If you're an active editor, I'd definitely recommend reading it at Islands Wikia:Manual of Style/Crafting recipes.
Dates and numbers
Additionally, we've also added more rules on how dates and numbers should be formatted. This includes new rules for how to format probability (drop chances). The guide can be found at Islands Wikia:Manual of Style#Dates and numbers.
Templates
We've also added some new templates, specifically page notices.
- {{Outdated}}, which is used to mark pages that contain outdated information.
- {{Multiple issues}}, which is used to mark pages that need to be rewritten or changed.
Editors can also see which pages that need maintenance by looking at pages in Category:Maintenance.
Item and Blocks vote
Currently, all things in Islands are considered a "Items", whether it can be placed or not. But other wikis for similar games, such as the Minecraft Wiki, have items that can be placed called "Blocks" and items that cannot be placed called "Items". Since not everything is blocked shaped in Islands, it is not a clear decision to call placeable items for blocks. But to help decide, anyone (that is signed in) can vote on the poll below.
