Pickaxes are one of the most commonly used tools in the game. They allow the player to mine blocks, and the speed increases depending on its material and the Mining skill.

Usage[]
Mining[]
Pickaxes can be used to break ore rocks and resource blocks. The number of hits required to break it is based on the player's Mining level. The rarity of the pickaxe also depend on the speed in which it breaks something, listed below from weakest to strongest:
- Wood
- Stone
- Iron
- Gilded Steel
- Diamond
- Opal
- Void Mattock
Breaking blocks[]
Pickaxes can be used to break general blocks on a player island's. A player's Mining level DOES affect the number of hits it takes to break them.
Trivia[]
- Jed and Ruby have pickaxes with their own unique models on their backs.
- Pickaxes, along with axes, had an animation early on in the game but were removed in an unknown update. This was likely to reduce lag.
- The Void Mattock is both an Axe and a Pickaxe.
